Bathtime bubblin’

We had a great time this morning visiting the new carousel, playground, and fountain at Smale Riverfront Park. I’m so impressed by our new parks!

After much hunting, she finally found a millipede for her bug box. Unfortunately, they all thought the crickets were much harder for little people to catch.

Better than the alternative?

John discovered a three foot black rat snake today. It slithered into our chipmunk hole! I think we no longer have a chipmunk problem, but now may have a snake problem. Is this how nature works? Agh!

Abby does this so, of course, Josie had to try. She loved it! Brave little swimmer!

This is what you wear for a princess dress-up birthday party at your friend’s house.

A rainy day recital, part 1.

It’s panties every day now for this girl! As a reward for her milestone, Josie got to select one thing at Target. Can you guess what it was? No, not a witch. After much deliberation, Josie picked out a purse, with polka dots. Now she has a place for all her (future) money.

Gwen is still working on it, but is a bit more determined now, I hope.

Clearly, twin playgroup at our house today was lots of fun. The house was a mess, but the girls enjoyed some water fun afterwards to recover.

Knock! Knock!

The girls love knock-knock jokes. We often share them during dinner. This evening, when they should have been snoozing, I listened as Gwen and Josie laid in their beds and told each other knock-knock jokes. Here’s their favorite:

Knock! Knock!
Who’s there?
Apple.
Apple who?
Would you like a poisonous apple?

And then they say “yuck” or “yes” and crack up laughing.

Now that’s a cute 5 year old princess. Thanks Auntie Mel and Uncle Ron for rounding out the princess dress-up collection with Pocahontas.

Abby loved playing with her new dolls and dollhouse today, but would like to give back the cold. We both agree that it was a crummy fifth birthday present.

Two silly girls, who really like to dunk their faces, cooling off after our twin playgroup today.

It took them awhile to get over their stage fright, but they ended up having a great time dancing to the music.
