Opening day at the pool!

We spent the first day of summer vacation on bikes and picnicking at Smale Riverfront Park with Auntie Em.

This is how Abby kicked off her summer vacation – by learning to ride a bike! Grandpa is an excellent teacher.

Last game of the season. They may not have won many games, but they were still a great team!

We had a great morning at Summit Park with twin playgroup followed by ice cream!

This silly girl took Nora’s advice and “punched out” her loose tooth on the morning school bus.

The big first steps for the new garden bed are complete! It’s definitely still a work in progress, but the area is already so much better. No more standing water! I replanted all of the Japanese forest grass, and added a lovely snowball viburnum. We still need rocks, mulch, lilies, and for the horrible smell of decomposing grass to go away!

We’re all set! We planted tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, green beans, cilantro, strawberries, and cantaloupe.

Thanks to our proceeds from the Girl Scout cookie sale, our Daisies (and little siblings) got to enjoy a special program at Parky’s Farm this afternoon. Everyone especially liked petting and holding the baby chickens.

Adventure #3: Girls Night at our house. With school ending in less than two weeks, we had to make this one a good one. The girls loved decorating picture frames, eating ice cream cones, and horsing around outside.

Adventure #2: our visit to the Butterfly Show at Krohn Conservatory. The matching blue shirts were a happy accident. The butterflies seemed to like this color, and they really liked Gwen and Josie’s flower headbands. The girls were often surprised when butterflies landed on them.

Today was filled with fun! Adventure #1: our Madeira Moms park playdate at McDonald Commons. Gwen was especially daring, and Josie made a new friend.

And now the basement project begins.
