Storytime
Me (with an excited voice): “Abby guess what we’re going to do again on Friday.”
Abby enthusiastically responds: “What?”
Me: “Go to storytime at the library!”
Abby (in a disappointed voice): “Again?”
Me: “Well, yeah. They read new books and do a different craft each time. Won’t that be fun?”
Abby considers this and says: “Ah, shucks!”
For the record, she had a blast at storytime. She was active and engaged, and in no way shy. In fact, she sat front and center, participated, and asked questions (especially “when is it going to be craft time?”). I watched on from an adjoining room since Gwen was the exact opposite. She started crying with the first hello from a stranger. I managed to put her to sleep in my arms while Grandma Susan held a very excited Josie. In fact, Josie was much like Abby. She too liked storytime. She kept trying to wiggle out of Grandma’s arms to go play with the other kids.
We are going back on Friday. Abby will have fun… I hope!

Firsts
Today was a day for firsts. Gwen has her first tooth! Papa noticed it this evening. Josie rolled over three times in a row to get to a toy. My mom watched in amazement. And, Abby played her first game of croquet in the backyard with Grandma Susan. Okay, that last one is slightly less significant, but Abby needed a first too.
Here’s the closest thing to potty humor that will ever appear on our blog.
Abby: “Papa, will you come to the potty with me?”
Papa: “Sure. Are you going to make a number two?”
Abby: “And a number three, and a four, and a five…”
This went on until she reached sixteen!
John shared this one via an email entitled “an alarming conversation.”
Papa: “Look, Abby, a dog.”
Abby: “That dog is probably going peepee.”
Papa: “Yep. Dogs go to the potty in the morning, just like little girls. You’re lucky because you don’t have to go to the potty outside.”
Abby: “I pee outside at Grandpa’s house!”
I have no idea where she learned this.
Abby: “Mom, will you come potty with me.”
Me: “Of course.” And off to the bathroom we go.
Abby walks through the door and then turns around and says: “We better turn on the fan. This is going to be stinky.”

“Will it be Easter again tomorrow?” Abby had so much fun. She didn’t want the good times to stop.

This ended with:
Papa: “Abby, your shirt is all wet.”
Abby: “It is? Ha ha. That’s funny!”

John: Abby, what was your favorite thing about today?
Abby: Going to Grandma and Grandpa’s house [yesterday].
Ha! Should I be offended? [Invoking Pete the Cat] Goodness no! This was another one of those silly Abby answers that made me laugh. We did actually have a good day.
If he had asked her later, she may have said making brownies. Our girl loves to bake! I’ll ask if she wants to bake something, and her quick, excited answer is always “what ingredients do we need?” She usually answers this while running towards the kitchen. And, her question is kind of silly because she knows. She can mostly rattle off the list of ingredients for our three favorite things to bake: brownies, cookies, and chocolate cake. My response is not brownie mix!

First day of spring!
It was super cold and windy today (high of 37!), but it was still the first day of spring and so we were happy! Abby and I played outside with bubbles in celebration.
Josie showed off her super baby skills today by rolling in both directions, and then rolling back. She one upped Gwen. Our Gwen prefers to roll exclusively to the right. Josie also started blowing raspberries today.
