We went to our first Madeira Moms play group today. This one was at Recreations Outlet in Milford. Only one other mom came, but we all had a great time anyway. Abby has a hidden talent for basketball. She’s really quite good at shooting baskets. Josie is a monkey and will climb anything. She also, like Abby, loves jumping on trampolines. Gwen likes to climb ladders, but refuses to slide down the slide once she’s at the top. “Get me down,” she insists.

There’s a Mellow Mushroom in Hyde Park Plaza! Abby and I had a mother-daughter date there after her (first) dentist appointment. The restaurant was awesome, but I’m sad to report that Abby has a cavity. Bummer.

Trick-or-treating in our new neighborhood was awesome! There were tons of kids, lots of folks were outside passing out treats while enjoying a fire, and the fire department even brought a truck (with flashing lights) to pass out full-sized candy bars! The girls had a really good time. Gwen and Josie were too tuckered out after awhile, but they greatly enjoyed eating their goodies while we chased Abby around with their wagon.

We’re ready for spring gardening and deck work! These are before and after photos of the first few steps (kill and pull tons of weeds, move lots and LOTS of rocks, prep first two garden beds).

These gems were taken after the Madeira Fall Costume Parade. Gwen and Josie were still snoozing so Abby and I went down to the park for the parade, games, and food. John and the babes met up with us later to play at the park. Based on the smiles alone, one could guess that they had fun.

No more “Mama, push me.” Look what Abby finally figured out how to do all by herself!

We’re soaking up the lovely weather while we can! Yesterday, we fed “goaties,” rode the train, and had other fun with Grandma and Grandpa at the Zoo. Today, we enjoyed petting farm animals (more goats!), a hayride, selecting pumpkins at a pumpkin patch, ghost bowling, and other Halloween fun with Angel and Grandma Susan at Parky’s Farm at Winton Woods Park. Too bad we previously scheduled flu shots for tomorrow.

Yay for new neighborhood friends (and for older brothers who can get them to stand still long enough for a picture).

Three girls, three painting personalities… I brought out two pieces of paper for each girl. Josie was so busy mixing paint colors on her plate that she barely used one sheet. Gwen used one sheet too, but only because she was focused and determined to perfect her masterpiece. Abby, on the other hand, happily snatched up the spare paper. She needed to paint pictures for everyone!
Thirty plus minutes of painting was pretty good for little ones. If it had kept them occupied longer, I would have given them all the paper they wanted! 😉
