As if I needed evidence that I get no privacy.

“Mama, come see! I drew a tampon!”

When the power goes out, and you don’t want to open the fridge, you let the girls pick where to have dinner. I’m proud of them for making such a good choice!

Another step towards kindergarten occurred today. We received the letter with Abby’s class placement information from Madeira City Schools. It seemed like a momentous occasion since we have so many friends and acquaintances now with kids who are entering kindergarten. There are five classes, and so lot’s of talk today about who got which teacher. I had assumed that they would all be good (it is Madeira!), but I guess some are still preferred over others. I’m pleased to know now that Abby will be in class with a very well-liked teacher. This is very important since everything she really needs to know she’ll learn in kindergarten, right?

One of my favorite parts of the day is listening to the girls recount their morning adventures to John when he returns home from work. Today, Abby started by telling him about her mastery of the monkey bars. Josie heard this and cam running down the hallway from the bathroom, pants-less, of course, screaming “I rode the bumpy slide!” I rode the bumpy slide.“ I then heard Gwen shouting from the other room, "I did the tunnel slide!” I think they were all proud of their bravery and athleticism at Stephan Field.

Buy them new swimsuits, and guess what they want to wear first thing in the morning?

Some moms claim that twins share their own language. Although I haven’t heard any particularly unusual speech, these two certainly can understand each other better than I can sometimes understand them, and they share an incredible bond. I love listening to them talk to each other. Best friends for life!

Kudos to our neighborhood for making each kid feel like a winner! My girls won ribbons for “most patriotic twins” and “best decorated scooter” in the 4th of July parade. They’ll definitely want to spend even more time decorating their entries next year!

Abby’s first trip to Starbucks! Funny but it felt like an important occasion to me.

It was cool and breezy, but the girls still had fun at the Madeira Moms park playdate this morning. Abby made a new friend too; one who probably doesn’t even care for princesses.

Isn’t Gwen lucky to have a big sister to style her hair?

On the way home from twin playgroup today, Gwen and Josie had a little argument about their grandfather.

Josie: “Grandpa is a sweetie pie.”
Gwen: “No, he’s not! He’s a rascal!”

This went on and on, back and forth until I suggested that perhaps he could be both.

Another girl had a potty milestone! Like Josie, Gwen got to pick out a treat from Target. She was very quick and decisive - one cheetah and a pony for her.
