Girl date #7: more art and a guy wearing lipstick (said a laughing Gwen)

I asked the girls what their favorite part of today was and Josie said that she enjoyed collecting shells, Gwen liked roasting S'mores, and Abby was a big fan of the hot tub.

Although it was windy and cool, we still enjoyed our first day at the lovely Maumee Bay.

Girl Date #6: All the downtown favorites, but with three girls!

The last time I visited Kings Island, Angel was Abby’s age!

With just a few more weeks of summer vacation, Abby’s summer bucket list is complete! Abby “sort of” liked roller coasters, but loved water slides, even crazy ones that freaked her mama out!

The weather was very HOT and it rained on Friday, but it was still a great week at Girl Scout camp. These girls were all “alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic” outdoor adventurers.

It’s unbelievable that tomorrow is already our halfway point for “Camp Hogwoods” Girl Scout Camp at French Park! So far, we’ve hiked, walked through the creek, played with clay, tie-dyed t-shirts, played games like Drip Drip Drench, watched a magic show, decorated banners and bandanas, performed friendship skits, sent PAs to Azkaban, gone on a scavenger hunt, visited with Zoo animals, made SWAPS, learned first aid skills, and more! It’s been a busy, but fun week.

Girl date #5: Since it was storming this morning, Gwen and I decided we would just stay home and do some experiments from her new kids science book. After prepping one, she was ready to go to the Contemporary Arts Center and “do what Josie did last week.” Much to our surprise, it had not even rained downtown! We ended up having a great time, and discovered free face-painting and games at Smale. Gwen was delighted!

About six months after starting swim lessons, Gwen is already jumping off the diving board.

Girl date #4: This time Josie added a streetcar ride to our downtown fun.

Kenwood Hills knows how to throw a fun Fourth of July party! We’re so lucky to be part of this neighborhood!

July 3rd fun: Blue Ash Nature Park in the afternoon , and then the Madeira Independence Day parade and fireworks that evening.

While Abby had lots of fun with her friends at Girl Scout camp, Gwen, Josie, and I had our own outdoor adventure at the Cincinnati Nature Center. They even got to hold some tadpoles and fish thanks to the netting skills of some nice big girls.

What do you do with three busy girls on a rainy day? You go bowling with friends, and reluctantly agree to a baking project that “you’re not allowed to help with.” Later you help clean up the mess.
