The lovely thing about Madeira is you’re always running into friends. Our trip to the Madeira Art Fair was no exception.

It’s sad to have to take down a tree (or two), but pretty awesome when it can be a DIY project.

Abby’s team won their game! It was a very wet one too. Rain! Rain! Rain!

Before and (current) after. This weekend we added two Bloomerang purple lilacs near the garden gate. They were a great find in the clearance plant section at Lowes. These lilac bushes bloom multiple times a year, are deer and mildew restistant, and they only get 5 feet tall! I just hope they tolerate our soil and a little afternoon shade.

Building our DIY raised garden bed begins! We rented a Home Depot truck last night (just $19!) and hauled all the wood (12 foot timbers!), soil, compost, pea gravel, etc home. We’re all super excited.

First she wanted me to teach her to sew on a button, and then she decided to help her Papa. Abby is a curious girl with many talents!
